Join a Book Club

My friend and I started a book club shortly before our kids (and schedules) got too busy for playgroup (as the kids were headed to kindergarten). Each of us invited one friend, until we ended up with 8 people. Right now, one person picks a book for the next meeting, but we've tried other ways to pick books. Some are current and bestsellers, but not all. We've read and talked about some interesting books. What's nice is that it gives our kids a chance to see us reading---and enjoying it. And then we have a Girls' Night Out every five weeks. We've been meeting at Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, the Melting Pot for a chocolate fondue meeting, etc. It's been fun and fascinating. Do you find this valuable?
