I'm just wondering if anyone can suggest websites, message boards, magazines, organizations, etc.? I'm pretty good at finding children's books and music on Amazon.com...but like when you Google "multicultural toys," you don't get great results."Do you find this valuable? |

Great question! We have a wonderful doll house made of wood from Plan Toys. I know it comes with different ethnic dolls. The company has sound principles of play and quality materials too. http://www.plantoys.com/homepage.html Barefoot Books has a multicultural/world approach with books and toys. http://www.barefoot-books.com At the American International Toy Fair in NYC showed the debut of Younique Gemz™ dolls from a Canadian company. The American Girl line has dolls that are of different ethnicities, plus you can make your own. Groovy Girls dolls. Another company out of Canada, http://www.playtoys.ca/, has multicultural and fair trade toys. http://www.icelebratediversity.com/ www.greatdad.com lists these web sites: Association of Multiethnic Americans - www.ameasite.org Interracial Voice (while much of the site is dated, it also lists multiracial support groups across the United States) - www.webcom.com/intvoice/ Mavin Foundation (publisher of Mavin, a magazine on experiences of multiracial people, transracial adoptees, and multiracial families) – www.mavinfoundation.org Pact – Provides advice to adoptive parents raising children of color – www.pactadopt.org National Advocacy for the Multi-Ethnic (a blog on the multiethnic experience, news, and data) http://www.namecentral.org/ Hope this helps!
